Publications
Hutt’s My Mother’s Legacy project has led to two publications: the book My Mother’s Legacy which documents and tells the story of the project, and inclusion in the MIT Press architectural and design theory journal Assemblage.
Both are available for purchase below.
My Mother’s Legacy
Paperback 8 x 8"
68 pages
ISBN # 0-9743417-0-3
Accompanying the artwork My Mother’s Legacy, this book is loving tribute to Sarah Hutt’s mother Carmellia Louise Ann Colonnese Hutt. Based on 1,000 of Hutt’s memories, the text is a collection of endearing and sometimes mundane habits and rituals that make up a person’s character. Examples from the book; "My mother wore high heels", "My mother said black was for old ladies", "My mother said don't trust a man that can't dance", "My mother did handstands".
Along with the full 1,000-line poem, the book includes photos of Hutt’s mother, images of exhibitions of the project and a selection of bowls, a bibliography and acknowledgements.
You can see your mother, your daughter, and your friends in this book. It is a wonderful way to say thank you to someone you love.
